Smoky Brown Eye Makeup Tutorial

Products used:

  • -Revlon Colorstay Palette in Adventurous
  • -Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • -L’Oreal Gel Liner
  • -L’Oreal Voluminous Smoldering Pencil Eyeliner
  • -Revlon Eye Lash Curler
  • -L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara
  • -mark. Scanda-lash Mascara
  • -e.l.f Glitter Eye Liner
  • -Various types of eye shadow brushes

Let's Do It:

Step 1: Apply the coppery brown shade all over lids.

Step 2: Apply the dark brown shade in the outer crease and move toward inner crease area with a soft hand.

Step 3: Blend out the brown color in the crease so it is not so harsh. Use a fluffy blending brush to create a soft smoked out look. Use a little of the coppery-brown shade as a transition color in the crease to lessen the intensity of the dark brown.

Step 4: Apply the white shade in the palette in the tear duct corner of the eyes. Also, apply the same shade underneath the eyebrows.

Step 5: Take the olive brown color and apply it on the center of the lid to add shimmer to the eyes and to intensify the look.

Step 6: Apply gel liner and wing it out parallel to the makeup, kind of like a cat eye shape. Also, line your upper and lower water line with an eyeliner pencil. Don’t forget to smudge it a little downwards. Apply layers of mascara. (I used two different mascaras to give my lashes maximum volume and length.)

Step 7: Finally, for an extra little oomph, apply glitter liner under the winged out part of the gel liner. And you are done!

Smoldering Smokey Eyes

How to Smoldering Smokey Eyes

1. Prep the whole eyelid and under eye with either a concealer or eyeshadow primer. I used MAC Paint in Bare Canvas.

2. + 3. + 4. +5. Apply a black pencil liner all around your eye, close to your lash line, making the liner thicker on the outer parts of your lid, and in your waterline.

6. Using a mini dome eyeshadow brush, smudge the liner all around the eye until it appears smooth.

7. Apply a matte bone colored eyeshadow to the brow bone.

8. Next, apply a warm, medium brown eyeshadow to your crease, and blend well.
Take that same brown eyeshadow and apply it under the lower lash line, blending into the black liner.

9. To add a little interest, take a shimmery gold eyeshadow or pigment and apply to your lid, then, apply a little to the center of your lower lash line.

10. To Finish off the look, apply a coat or two of mascara. Don’t forget to curl them first!Pro Tip: Since applying eyeshadow can be a messy job, first, do your eyes, then clean up any eyeshadow that has fallen on your under eye with some makeup remover. Then, apply your foundation!

11. Favorite Products: Stila Kajal Eye Liner Pencil in “Onyx” & Urban Decay’s Naked Palette 1.
